Well the day has come and gone as September 27th, 2003 I competed in my very first professional bodybuilding show the WNBF Pro International in Overlook, Kansas.
This was a top notched even hosted by promoters Fred and Jan Rowlett. There were a total of 21 pro male competitors and 13 pro women and $5000 in prize money!!!
The men classes were split into two, light (under 176lbs) and heavy (176 and over). I fell into the light weight class and had 11 guys in my class including the reigning Mr. Universe Tiger Wilson.
After it was all said and done, I came out winning the lightweight class at my first pro show!!! I was beyond excited. I was accompanied by Dianne Loftis and her fiance' Will who were very supportive and basically got NO SLEEP for 3 days to come out and be there for me. Thanks guys!!!
Some of the highlights of the show for me were meeting all the other pros like Scout Trout http://www.txdiamond-back.net , hanging with Tiger and his wife and of course Tiger's posing routine which was OFF THE HOOK!
In the end, I found myself going up against Walter Smith the heavy weight winner at this show and the reigning Mr. Pro Natural American.
All in all, I had a great time and look forward to competiting with the rest of the guys next year.
